Demetrius, or “Demo” as we know him, is a Knoxville transplant who has made the area his home for ten years now. Demo’s father was in the Air Force growing up and they lived in many states while he was a child. After finishing high school in the state of Alabama, he moved to Johnson City, TN and attended East Tennessee State University.
After graduating with undergraduate and masters degrees in Accounting, he spent the first 10 years of his career in the accounting world specializing in construction, commercial real estate, and disaster response. The succeeding three years were spent particularly in disaster response across the United States as a project coordinator. During this time he was responsible for negotiation of sales, leases and regulatory functions for all commercial transactions for the entire west coast. After his stint in this role, he realized he had caught the commercial real estate bug and became licensed in Tennessee.
Demo has closed multiple transactions representing buyers and sellers. His primary area of interest and expertise is in industrial buildings and manufacturing warehouses. Additionally, he has represented multiple tenants with leasehold negotiations in the retail, hospitality, and industrial arenas.
During his down time, he is an avid fan of all Auburn athletics, running, working out, playing golf and hanging out with friends. He is the proud dad of Etta, his four year old mixed breed pup.
Julie opened Brick & Mortar Properties with over a decade in residential & commercial property management and real estate experience. During her tenure as a property manager, she has been privileged to manage over two hundred residential units, as well as a multitude of commercial properties all over the Southeast. In addition to her experience as a property manager, she has experience selling a high volume of commercial real estate, with an emphasis on multi-family investment properties.
Following her graduation from the University of Tennessee, Julie began her career in property management by managing a small portfolio of residential properties throughout the Knoxville area. After a couple of years of residential property management, Julie transitioned into brokering real estate sales for commercial properties throughout the Southeast region, spanning from Tennessee to Florida. In addition to brokering these sales, she also managed the properties, ensuring prompt and efficient rent collection and property maintenance across many miles.
Julie later returned to her focus on residential property management, leaning on her developed experience to grow her former modest portfolio to a large scale business platform specializing in management of single family homes and individual units throughout the Knoxville and surrounding areas. Over the years she has recruited a team of trusted professionals to assist with the day-to-day operations of her continually expanding management portfolio, and honed the systems in place designed to best serve her clients.
Presently, Julie is both an affiliate real estate broker, owner and property management director for Brick & Mortar Properties. She is available to meet your needs to market your properties for either sale or lease. Primarily, Julie brings her substantial experience to the management of your residential and commercial properties, guaranteeing the efficiency and profitability of your investment.
When not otherwise professionally engaged, Julie is an active resident of the Knoxville community, and spends much time enjoying the seasonal weather on her patio with the company of her two wiener dogs, Valyria & Dorne.
Robert is the principal broker of Brick & Mortar Properties. He takes pride in being a real estate educator and consult for his clients opposed to just a sales person. In addition to being a consultant, what sets him apart from other agents is the fact that not only has he built and rehabbed commercial and residential properties for many years, he also saves occupied business owners time they don’t have by being able to help them make quick decisions on time frame and budget when looking at new spaces whether for sale or lease. For home owners or home owners to-be, he is able to help navigate and avoid costly pitfalls when buying or selling a home and educate from experience in being able to identify trouble areas in a home with just a quick walk through.
Furthermore, Robert has earned his Graduate, Realtor® Institute (GRI) designation, an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR)is an Accredited Consultant in Real Estate (ACRE), a Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR), a Certified Distress Property Expert (CDPE), a NAR e-PRO, a Realtor®, and is currently working on additional designations. He is also a certified Buffini training coach.
After working as a full time commercial and residential agent for many years Robert decided that in addition to working with buyers, sellers, and commercial lease tenants in the Knoxville area, he wanted to support and train other agents and open up a real estate company. Brick & Mortar Properties serves most towns and counties surrounding Knoxville including Maryville, Alcoa, Sevierville, Oak Ridge, and Farragut. In addition to working with traditional sales transactions we also manage commercial and residential properties for investors and have a full suite of services for landlords and tenants in-house. Outside of his business persona, Robert is a Marine Corps veteran and enjoys obstacle course races, running ultra marathons (anything more than 26.2 miles), and working with his hands.
